The Wild Places
Connect with the land
The connection between the people and the land is the largest loss of the Internet age. The Wild Lands is focused on simply giving you the tools to explore and adventure in our natural world, allowing you to create your own relationship with the earth. I do this through five pillars of connection: The Scoop, Gearhead, Trail Reports, Instruction, and the 80% ER.
The Scoop

The Scoop *
News:
Get informed about the land by knowing not only about the policy surrounding the wilderness. The Scoop also spotlights people and events that are pushing the fight for our land and innovating the sports that connect us with it.
Trail Reports

Trips:
The trail report is focused on breaking down the barrier of adventure by sharing my stories. I explore longer expeditions, but also believe in the power of micro adventures, showing that adventure can happen on the day-to-day level.
Gear Head

Gear Report:
Gear is one of the most fun and confusing aspects of outdoor adventure. Not only can it directly affect the quality of your experience, but has a strong safety component. I break down this barrier, adding my expertise to create a safe and fun adventure. I put gear in your hands that is ethically made and adds great value to your experience.

Instruction:
Hard skills go hand in hand with gear when it comes to taking on any adventure. Having skills in the outdoors allows for a greater opportunity to slow down and connect with our land in a safe way. I draw on my breadth of experience and certifications to give you the knowledge you need.

Money where My mouth is:
Yvon Chouinard, climber, surfer, and founder of outdoor brand Patagonia, coined the idea of the 80% ER, the idea that there are too many amazing outdoor sports to typecast yourself in just one. I behoove readers to explore, and I do the same, taking on sports outside of my realm of expertise and speaking on my experience.
